I brought her back to her apartment around 11 this morning.
She called my brother. She wrote a couple of emails (well, she dictated; I did the typing).
She went for lunch in the dining room.
She is fine and well. And I intend to take a three hour nap!

So glad she is home!
Hi Nora-
Me too!
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
:D yay!
This is wonderful news! Wishing you both continued good health.
Glen
At last! I'm so happy for you both!
Hi and thank you Librarina and Maddy Myers and Glen and Elaine Marie Alphin-
I just spoke to my mother. She had an evaluator come visit to discuss home health care. The evaluator was very impressed with my mother's health and her working brain cells.
My mother declined a home health care aid, but will be evaluated for physical and occupational therapy.
Alas, for my mother to get these services, she has to be housebound. Which means no trips to the Chinese restaurant in the immediate future!
I am very glad to hear that! I've been thinking about you both lately. I hope things continue uphill.
Been waiting to hear this, great news!!
Dawn
By the way, that's a nice picture of your mom.
Glen
Hello to Sarah and Dawn and Glen-
I just got off the phone with my mother. She's back to reading her two newspapers a day.
I'll be taking her this afternoon to see Dr. Hearing Aid. After the exciting trip her hearing aid took to the health center laundry room, it's probably a good idea to make sure it's in proper running order.
I love that picture of my mother. The funny thing is she was smirking when I took it, but it looks like she's smiling.
Daughters know everything!
What an adorable little lady! Hi Susan -- I'm a brand new (adult) fan. I discovered LAWKI and d&g while browsing in my local Borders a few weeks ago and have since finished both. I'm very happy to see a 3rd installment is on the way. I've read that you are going to be in the DC/VA area soon, but not really doing any "signings." Is there a way to send books to you for autographs? Or, will you be doing a tour with the next book? Thanks for your time -- Patrick (pdj@pdjennings.com)
Hi Patrick-
Thanks for your comment. I'll take all the new fans I can get!
I still have some bookplates left, so I'm off to email you to explain what they are.
Happy Holidays! And so good that Freda is at home for them.
The Fall for the Book Festival is very hotsy-totsy. It seems the best literary festivals are in the South. And it's this year they're honoring E. L. Doctorow. Wow. Are you a fan? Will you get his autograph?
How exciting. Are you excited?
W. Slezak
and besides, you ARE of direct Southern lineage. This will be your chance to be the belle d'ars!
W. Slezak
Fantastic! That's wonderful news!
Hello W. Slezak and Stephanie-
My mother is doing fine. And so am I.
I won't be meeting anyone famous at Fall For The Book. I will get to spend Sunday night at my friend Renee's, which makes me happy.
Monday, I'll be visiting two different schools in the area, and then I'll begin the long drive home.
E.L. Doctorow came to Middletown once, many many years ago,to do a program at the library. I remember attending it, although frankly I don't remember a thing he said, just that he was here.
