To announce that Life As We Knew It is the Garden State Teen Book Award winner for Fiction, Grades 6-8.
I have already exchanged emails to confirm that I'll be getting a certificate (I'll hold off completing the redecorating until the awards luncheon).
My mother says she's very proud.
And so am I!

I remain absolutely delighted about this honor. LAWKI has been nominated for so many awards (for which, trust me, I'm extremely grateful), but I was concerned it might never win any.
It was a distraction though yesterday, but I managed to do a lot of rewrites, and I'm cautiously optimistic I'll finish the third, final, and very very best ending this afternoon.
That, and redecorating the den, should keep me busy, productive, and happy!

As a matter of fact, I added a link today on the Program Ideas thread, to a New Jersey library that's combining a book discussion of LAWKI with a disaster party.
Now that I think about it, I've given some parties that could have qualified for disaster aid!
Its kind of obiouse ( sorry about the spelling) that you would get that award. Your like the best author ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Believe it or not, the library doing the Disaster Party (Metuchen Public Library) just won in the random raffle drawing hosted by One Book NJ! The library's name was selected out of 30 other NJ libraries that planned OBNJ programs and posted them to the OBNJ online calendar. Lots of great programming ideas there!

I never win anything (through luck at least), so I think it's wonderful, and kind of jovially ironic, that the Metuchen Public Library, home of the LAWKI Disaster Desserts, won in a random raffle draw!
Hey i love this book i am only half way but i think this is a great read and I recommend this book for young adults. Keep Righting!!!
