Whoo Hoo! Here's The British Cover For The Dead And The Gone!!!
Actually it looks even better than this, because the words Dead, Gone and unlucky sometimes look red and sometimes look black, depending on the light. And the little figure to the right kind of looks like a penguin from a distance, but really looks like a boy close up (which is how people will see it when they pick up the book). And right next to the picture of LAWKI, it says: The terrifying follow-up to Life As We Knew It.
And I posted it all on my very own. A new personal achievement.
I am so excited. But you knew that!

LOVE the cover! This is Jennifer (aka kylen) and as soon as I figure out how to do this properly, I will post as a person and not anonymous!
You aren't the only one who struggles with the complexities of the internet!
I like how it says "Life as we knew it is over". There's a double meaning in that. ;)
Looks cool! Is there a particular reason you're credited without the "Beth" part of your name?
Loved, loved, loved the first book and I just wrote in my newspaper column about how this book begged for a sequel. Ask and ye shall receive. I can hardly wait for June. Any chance I could get an ARC before the release date so I could have the review ready to go for the 2008 release?
I am totally stoked! I need to contact your publisher and beg for an ARC copy! My friend SQT would probably love this to be reviewed for her book blog!
It looks good and you better believe no matter what I do I'm getting this book! And you'll be begged for another interview :)
Thank you for all your responses.
Trust me, the Harcourt cover, which is completely different, is also just amazing. At some point, I'll ask my editor's permission to post it here (now that I know how!).
There was a reason why the U.K. publisher asked if they could dump my "Beth," but I've kind of forgotten what that reason was. It was either because it made me sound too female or too American or too American female. We discussed options, including calling me SB Pfeffer, but they decided to go with Susan Pfeffer, and I was fine with it.
The funny thing is I am completely attached to that Beth. I had a poem published in a magazine when I was in sixth grade, and it was credited to Susan Pfeffer. I found my copy of it a few years ago, and I'd signed it Susan Beth Pfeffer. And in my high school yearbook, I was one of two people to use first and middle names (and that includes a couple of people who shared the same name).
See. One little question, and I write a memoir...
Hi there,
Thanks for all your lovely comments about this cover - we love hearing what you think and we're really pleased you like it!
Best wishes,
