The Offical Unveiling of This World We Live In Cover

I asked my editor if I could have a picture of the cover of This World We Live In that I could put on my blog in a better than I printed it on typing paper and pinned it to a chair with needles and took a picture of it with my beloved digital camera format. Something a tad more professional.

And I got one! The super great thing about this is they changed the cover. I'd test you except the version that I originally posted here is so pathetic you can't see the change. But instead of it saying: SUSAN BETH PFEFFER BY THE NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLING AUTHOR OF LIFE AS WE KNEW IT, it now says: SUSAN BETH PFEFFER THE NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLING AUTHOR OF LIFE AS WE KNEW IT

I asked for that change, and it's good to know they listen to me.

So without further ado (we've had enough ado to last us), here is the Official Unveiling Of the This World We Live In cover.

Oh I really like that! Beautiful cover and how I imagined the world looked like in my head in your novels.

Hi Corey B-

Yes, isn't it beautiful. Desolate and otherworldly and sad.

Lest anyone regard that as a spoiler, let me say that This World We Live In is not necessarily desolate and sad (it never was otherworldly)!

Happy Friday afternoon Dawn-

I have to admit, I'm impatient also.

I'll be even more impatient during the long cold winter months!

Hi Syd-

I really think Harcourt did a fabulous job with this cover.

I admit I'm kind of curious about what the back cover will be like!

Amazing cover. Unfortunately, this makes me want to read TW even more.

Oh well, good things come to those who wait. Even if it kills me.

I think it's perfect and wonderful and another eye-popping cover, Susan.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Could you please tell us the name of the artist? I am downstairs. LIFE and DEAD are upstairs. Am I being too lazy to go check myself? (Um, yes.)

When is the pub date for THIS WORLD?

Love it! Can't wait to have it in my hands!

Good Saturday evening to Sarah and Glen and Chris and Writerross and Linda Jacobs-

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.

And just in case this needs saying, yes, I agree.

I don't know who did the cover design for TW. Kelly Eismann designed the covers for LAWKI and d&g, both of which combined photograhs.

Pub date for TW is April 1, 2010, which is 6 1/2 months from now (or, if you prefer to look at this way, fall and winter from now).

I love it! Looks fantastic - especially with the other two.

The house is exactly how I pictured it. For the past year I have been bugging my sister to read LAWKI. She called me on Friday to tell me she started reading it during her lunch hour and was late getting back to work. I have read both books and can't wait for the sequel.

Susan Beth Pfeffer said...

Hi to melissa@1br and Kelly G-

I'm eager to see all three books lined up myself. I think Harcourt has done a brilliant job making the covers interrelated, yet each one looking beautiful on its own.

Hmm...I think that's what they wanted me to do with the books as well. Let's hope I succeeded!

Publication date on April Fools Day. Interesting. Gives a whole new meaning to "the sky is falling."

Glad the publishers changed the blurb because the first version reads as though The NY Times wrote the Susan Beth Pfeffer story and LAWKI. no no no...

Hi Billy and thank you!

It looks Lovely!
It looks alot like the cover of LAWKI which i much preffered to the cover of the dead and the gone.
Great job!

Susan Beth Pfeffer said...

Thank you Sarah-

I love all 3 covers!

Can one book change one life? Yes.
Your book needs to come out now, for your fans sakes, your sake and my sake. Can I wait? NO!
How does it end? How does it begin? Will it leave me devastated? Or will it leave me cheery? Will I be satisfied with the ending? Please tell me this book WILL be what I hope it will be! I stunning surprise on everypage!

Hi Steph M-

I'm happy to tell you the book will be everything you hope it will be. I am a very optimistic person.

It will certainly be full of surprises unless you read some of the blog reviews. There are several that reveal many of those surprises.

I have links to all of them over at the thirdmoonbook blog. I do say which ones are spoiler filled, so if you want to hold off knowing until This World comes out (in just 2 months), you'll be able to!
