Can you enlarge the images? My enlargements blur the type, and when I enlarge the page, I am unable to see the bottoms of your pages. Maybe there's another way for me to do it?

Hi Bonnie Jacobs-

Boy, are you asking the wrong person. I had trouble enough figuring out how to print those pages!

All I can tell you is when I have trouble downloading or whatever, I send the link over to my gmail account and turn it miraculously into a Goodle doc.

Beyond that, I got nothing.

Click on the image. It will bring it up on another page. Right click the image and click on the View Image option. That will bring up another view with a little magnifier on it. If you click on that, it magnifies the image. I got the whole page, but my screen is smaller than the norm these days, so I had to scroll over. But I could read everything. If you have a wider screen than mine, you can probably read it across with no problem.

Thanks Marci!

Thank you, Marci. I've never used View Image before, so I'm learning something new. And the pages are very easy to read now.

Susan, now that I have been able to read the pages, I want more! Yes! You have hooked me with this story.

Susan Beth Pfeffer said...

Hi Bonnie Jacobs-

Isn't Marci wonderful? Well, we all know the answer to that question.

And I'm glad you liked the first two pages!

Bridget Higdon said...

Wow! This is great, and I am already hooked! Would you remind refreshing my memory..why is Jon responsible for Julie's death? And what happened to Miranda's mother?

Emily said...

I'm hooked! Can't wait for the rest!!!

Fear Death By Water said...

once again Susan ... best news I've heard in some time. Please publish this one ok?

I commented at your next to last post about Miranda. I wonder what you think about Miranda's possibly becoming a sort of "granny doctor"? Something she might've gone into even if the meteor hadn't happened, if her sports injury had healed, and she'd been able to compete again.

Two pages is not enough, as I'm already wanting more. I hope this one makes it to bookstore shelves (and thus into my eager hands)!

Hello and thank you to tigerlily*, Emily, Fear Death By Water, Anonymous Santa Fe, and Heather-

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to reply to your comments. I'm watching figure skating from 7 AM to 5 PM, and in my rare breaks, I'm running around trying to buy clothes (no luck today).

My brain is working hard on the book, but my fingers are definitely focused elsewhere!

Great start Susan! I can't wait to read more. There are so many more characters and possibilites to develop...what a gigantic task to narrow down. Have fun with it. Your fans will be hear waiting for you when you are done. Good Luck!

I just finished your third book in this series. When do you think you'll get this one published?

Anonymous said...

Thank you so much for posting this Susan! I can't wait for the book to come out. I am already hooked by just two pages! When will the book be out?

Susan Beth Pfeffer said...

Hello to Deirdre B., Anonymous, and Anonymous-

Well, I haven't done any writing/writing for a few days (the figure skating was fun and time consuming)and at the earliest I'll get back to writing/writing on Wednesday, but maybe not.

My brain is working though, and I solved what had been a major problem. Or at least I think it's solved. I'll find out when I reach that particular scene.

I doubt I'll be sending the manuscript off before mid-May, and then the publisher has to read it and decide if they want to publish it. So even if everything goes well, I doubt it'll be available before Fall 2013, a year and a half from now.

So don't get too impatient!

I was wondering -- as the story progresses, will the circumstances behind Matt and Syl's departure for the other community, Alex's decision to leave, and Hal's death unfold? Is Mom still pregnant with Charlie's baby? Did Miranda get pregnant by Alex? And, if so, how did/didn't it further strain the relationship between them -- example: Miranda might've originally wanted to name a girl Juliana (Julie + Briana) while Mom insisted on Juliet for HER girl name. Lisa might've been fixated on the idea that both might be having girls.

How much from the other stories were you able to salvage? I've noticed that your editors seem to be uncomfortable with storylines that jump too far ahead in time. But this proposed one seems to be right; the narrative torch is passed to Jon, and through him we see how the decisions of the previous books affect the immediate future.

I'm liking his voice already! Yes, he has grown up. It's Wednesday; I hope you are hard at work, Missy! LOL

Susan Beth Pfeffer said...

Hello to Anonymous (sorry I can't help you with your questions) and Anonymous Santa Fe (sorry to say I've salvaged almost nothing) and Linda Jacobs (sorry to confess this Missy spent most of today sleeping!).

I can't believe I haven't been on this blog before now! Just wanted to tell you that I love the moon crash series, it's great! I live in Australia and I can still relate with the characters :) I can't wait for 'The shade of the moon' and when it said on wiki that you had decided not to release this book I was devastated! Thank god that you are now! It makes me so happy! If you replied to this it would make me incredibly delighted! From your biggest fan xxx

Susan Beth Pfeffer said...

Hello and welcome Verity-

It's always fun to hear from people as far away as Australia, especially if they take the time to let me know how much they like my books.

My plan is to get back to writing The Shade Of The Moon this afternoon. Hey, that rhymes. Maybe I should stop writing prose, and focus entirely on poetry!

Sorry you haven't been able to salvage much from your first three efforts -- it'd have been interesting to see how the dynamic between Miranda and Mom might or might not have changed if they both were pregnant at the same time.

It'd be interesting to find out the story behind Matt and Syl leaving the group -- could Syl have been the catalyst for that, like she did when she "freed" Horton to die, only to have it blow up in everybody's face and force them to leave? Is Syl a positive or negative force? I'm still wondering.

PS: the word for my post is "mserres nersiand". Sounds like the name of a science fiction book, doesn't it?

Susan Beth Pfeffer said...

Hello again Anonymous Santa Fe-

There's no big thing about Matt and Syl living someplace else. If I were Syl, I wouldn't want to live too near my mother-in-law!

Tara said...

PLEASE post more. I'm so hooked already! I hope we get to hear more about Alex! He was my fave!

Susan Beth Pfeffer said...

Hi Tara-

As of the moment, it's not an Alexcentric book, but he's definitely a character and he certainly has scenes.

It's an interesting balance having the older characters in the story, while the focus is on Jon who doesn't live with them.

I hope I can pull it off!

Thank you so much for continuing the series these books were probably the best I have ever read and I can't wait for the new book
