I've Got A Working Flashlight. I've Got A Radio With Batteries.

I've got a completed manuscript.

Yes, in honor of the upcoming Hurricane Irene, I finished The Shade Of The Moon and sent it off to my editor approximately 8 minutes ago.

There's nothing like an impending hurricane to make you beat a September 1 deadine.

Have a good and safe weekend everyone!

I just finished book two and I'm starting book three!! I decided to come to your page because my daughter(34 years old) finished all three and is hungry for more!! My younger daughter read book one and my granddaughter is on book three!!

The way I found out about the books was my oldest bought the first one for her 13 year old daughter to read, then she started reading it and bought the other two. She told me about them and my boyfriend bought me the trilogy the next day!!

I'm so excited that there is going to be a 4th book!!

Love your webpage and your writing,

Thank you Fear Death By Water-

As far as I can tell from my obsessive chart reading, I should be all right. There's a risk of big winds, and I'm preparing for a blackout, but I live far enough inland that I expect messy rather than dangerous conditions.

I have plenty of books to read and I bought Scooter a new toy. So we should be fine!

Hello leftwriter and thank you for your comment-

I love the image of your whole family reading my books, and I especially love the image of your boyfriend getting them for you. What a boyfriend! Have you considered cloning him?

Please say hello to your daughters and granddaughter for me, and tell them I hope they'll like book 4 when it comes out next year.

Susan,

Be safe. We here in the center of North Carolina were hoping for rain out of all of this, but our town got just a little (it seemed to reach the county line and stop there). My sister lives in Wilmington and they lost power around noon yesterday but at least they are fairly used to having hurricanes. Hope you don't lose power.

Hello Begins With M and Paige Y.

If your last names ever merged, MY OH MY!

So far we're hurricane (or tropical storm) free. My big problem is there's a nice breeze (finally) so I have some windows open, and mixed in with the cool air is Essence Of Skunk.

I think that was one disaster I left out of Life As We Knew It!

We seem to have weathered the storm pretty well. It's stil raining with gusty wins, but so far there's been no loss of electricity (and I hope it stays that way!).

We've escaped the power outages in NJ to family in PA. Stay safe!

Hello tigerlily*-

The wind is still howling here. I'm amazed (and relieved) there isn't more tree damage (I can see one small ugly one down) around here.

So far, no blackouts. But with the wind still zipping, it might be too early to celebrate that.

There was a lot of flooding damage nearby, but again, where I live seems to have escaped unscathed.

Susan,

Does your mom still have power?

As I recall from a post a couple of years ago, isn't this the year she turns 100? What a wonderful celebration to have!

Hello again Paige Y. and Fear Death By Water-

My mother's 100th birthday is Labor Day (there's probably some irony in there somewhere). We're supposed to have a small family and friends gathering, but my brother's in charge of arrangements and he hasn't told me yet when it's going to happen (I know the where, just not what time).

I haven't heard from him since yesterday morning and I think he's probably more concerned with lack of electricity and the complexities of a commute to NYC today to worry about much else. I'm seeing him tomorrow, so I'll pin him down then.

I don't personally fear death by water, but the way the wind was howling for hours yesterday, I was a little concerned about ending up in Oz!

I am a bit late in posting, sorry. So glad you are safe. I am also delighted the manuscript has been sent to the publisher. I hope you hear back soon.
