Extra Credit

I love movies, old and new, and one difference I've noticed between old and new is the length of the credits.

It used to be the credits were short and sweet: Produced, Directed, Written, and Starring Orson Welles.

Nowadays the credits run forever, and include all kinds of jobs and responsibilities I never associated with movies (second assistant greensperson and the suchlike).

So while I continue to wait for a kitten and a rewrite, I thought I'd give the credits for my upcoming production of This World We Live In (all these credits, by the way, would be identical for Life As We Knew It and the dead and the gone).

But...but...but where/who was the gaffer? lol....whatever a gaffer is. In addition to the credits being long, they are put in tiny print that one cannot read even read at the theater. I do miss the old movies (40's, 50's) where the beginning of the movie listed "The Players".

Congrats on your 3rd Moon book. :-) Woohoo! I have avoided anything with a B3 in your blog because I love surprise. I'm going to be one of those people going to the Third Place Books (Seattle) the day the book is released. Gotta find out happens...gotta find out what happens...need fix..need fix now! LOL

I had to stop myself from laughing out loud as I read this at the reference desk!

Hello to Charlotte, Anne M and Nora-

When I was a (disastrously bad) film major at NYU, I took a TV production course, and it turned out my best skill was holding the cue cards. I have a feeling being a gaffer (whatever that is) would be far beyond my talent level.

I'm looking forward to the publication of This World We Live In also. At this point, I'm looking forward to anyone actually reading it. As far as I know, the only person who has is my agent. She loved it ("WOW. Bravo. SO, SO Good."). But it could be argued she's not the most objective person in the world (although when she doesn't like something I wrote, she isn't shy about letting me know).

Of course if B3 is a failure, I can always go back to holding up cue cards!

i am a bit confused, are you combinding the books, as in puting mirinad and alex in one book. ((i know i miss spelled her name, and i am sorry about that now))

Hi Jmaster1324-

That's exactly what I'm doing. In This World We Live In, I go back to writing in Miranda's diary, and she meets Alex.

It was a challenge to write, but I think I did a good job (I'm still waiting to hear from my editor to see if she agrees!).

that sounds awsome, can't wait to read it.
