Blood Wounds Is Now Available On Amazon!

Fantastic Fiction was fantastic enough to email me and let me know, so I promptly scurried to Amazon to see if it was true.

And it is! Blood Wounds now has an official price ($16.99) and publication date (Sept. 12, 2011). No cover art yet (I've seen a preliminary sketch but that's it) and of course no ranking, since I'm the only person whow knows about it. Oh, and a tiny bit more plot than I would have cared for, but nobody asks me anything (at least not about how much plot I would like to have revealed in an Amazon listing).

I just counted and Sept. 12 is a little over 8 months away. That means it's less than 9 months from now! All I have to get through is a few more snowfalls and March misery and the glory that is spring and an excess of heat and humidity, and Blood Wounds will truly exist.

Hey. If I made it through the stomach virus, I can make it through that!

So it's kind of like finding out you're pregnant. You know that after a certain amount of time you'll get to hold something precious in your hands. :o)

Hallo Wanda Vaughn-

Well, on the one hand, I won't have to diaper it and nurse it through colic.

On the other hand, it won't give me grandchildren. But maybe, just maybe, it'll help support me in my old age!

Wow! That's great news :*) It's already on my "to buy" list for the middle school.

Hi Nina-

I am ridiculously excited.

Either that or the Amazon listing is providing me with an excuse not to get to work!

eeee, that sounds awesome! (I've never been picky about spoilers, so I loved the plot summary. I do see what you mean, though.) Excited to read it!

Yes, I alsothink they put in a little too much of the plot, but I forget things, so I'll never remember what they wrote by the time the book comes out.

By the way, haven't you retired like four times already?

Hello to grrlpup and (back to anonymous) Glen-

I would have left out what happens to Willa's father, since it kind of kills a certain level of suspense, but nobody runs these things past me before they go ahead and do it.

Althogh now that I think about it, I could ask my editor if that part can be removed. It never hurts to ask.

As far as my being retired goes, well, it comes and goes!

I can't wait for Blood wounds!!
But i don't wanna read a thing about the plot till it hits shelves on Sept. 12th!
Can writers ever legitly retire??

The part that you felt was TMI--it was the part about the dad getting shot and killed, right? With my last book, the actual TWIST of the book was given away in the blurb. Oy.

Hi L. Hi susancolebank-

I did email my editor last night and request the part about the fate of the father be removed, and she emailed back to say she'd see what she could do, but what with midwinter ALA about to happen, it might take a while.

I am sufficiently retired that I'd forgotten all about midwinter ALA!

Wow, that does rather give away stuff, doesn't it? I wonder when it'll hit our shores.

PS My verification word is lessen. Amazon should lessen the amount of spoilers they give out!

Hello to Friendly Neighbourhood Bookseller and congratulations on getting a word verification that's an actual word!

The UK rights for Blood Wounds haven't been sold yet, so I make no guarantees about the book showing up anywhere beyond the US and Canada. Of course, I hope it will.

And if it does, I'll be delighted to tell the world!
