Last Chance At The Bolivian Hat

Scooter and I are both totally exhausted from my trip to Lake Placid to see Skate America. He has the nap thing all worked out though, while I'm playing catch up with emails and laundry and mini-mother-crises.

One of the emails I got said the advance reading copies for This World We Live In actually do exist and my batch was sent to me on Friday. I should expect them sometime this week.

So if there's anyone out there who hasn't gotten around to emailing me at a chance at an ARC, do it now using the link on the right. Once the ARCs arrive, I'll be pulling the names out of the Bolivian hat. My guess is I'll be mailing the copies out early next week (maybe Friday this week if the ARCs come soon enough).

I think Scooter has the right idea. Why should cats have a monopoly on catnaps!

I always love the Scooter pictures. Sleeping cats are so peaceful and instantly calm me. My cat, Olive, was curled up next to me last night as I was reading in bed, and it was the sweetest thing ever.

I have to remember that moment when she wakes me up in the middle of the night thinking she needs more food even though there is food in her bowl.

Hi Nora-

Scooter was a lunatic last night when my friend Janet and I got back from Lake Placid. Lots of crying, lots of purr on the neck at all hours of the night and morning.

He doesn't like it when I'm gone, and he has a point!

My husband is allergic to cats so I've never had one, but every time I see pictures of Scooter, they make me want to move into my own apartment so I can get a kitten!

Hope you had a wonderful time at Lake Placid. I cannot hear the name of the town without thinking about the Olympics there and how excited I was when the hockey team won (and I hate hockey).

Hello to Linda Jacobs and Paige Y.

I have friends with cats and friends with husbands, and my understanding is there's good and bad with both!

And yes, I did have a wonderful time in Lake Placid. I didn't get to see too much of the town because of all the skating, but what I did I thoroughly enjoyed (and there were some terrific moments in the skating as well).

Oh my gosh. Did you get to see Ryan Bradley?! He's my favorite skater! I am sooo beyond jealous!

Hi Anonymous Ryan Bradley fan-

I'm a big Ryan Bradley fan myself, because he's always so much fun to watch.

I was so pleased he made it onto the podium. He had the second best score on the freeskate (Evan Lysacek had the highest), and the audience just loved it.

All four winners (Lysacek, Kim, Shen and Zhao, Belbin and Agosto) were to be expected, but there were a lot of surprises in second and third places.
